What is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is a form of traditional medicine, with origins in Asia, that began 50,000 years ago. Although such an ancient form of treatment does raise skepticism on its effectiveness, there have been numerous studies that show that this field of medicine does work, especially towards relieving pain.

Acupuncture as a treatment involves placing tiny, thin needles into specific points to relieve tension, pain, and/or stress that occur throughout the body. More than 3 million Americans use acupuncture as a safe and natural treatment and worldwide it is a popular and effective method of treatment towards chronic pains and other chronic conditions. Examples of ailments that acupuncture can manage includes:

  • Low back pain

  • Knee pain

  • Arthritis and osteoarthritis

  • Neck pain

  • Joint pain

  • Hypertension

  • Migraine headaches

  • Sprains and strains

  • Digestive and immunity issues

  • And many more

What is Cupping Therapy?

Cupping is a form of treatment primarily used to relieve pain and improve mental health. There are three important functions to it as listed:

Improves Blood Circulation

According to traditional eastern medicinal practices, pain and diseases are often caused by stagnation or blockage in the flow of chi and blood. Cupping sucks up the skin, encouraging the circulation of chi and blood flow throughout the body and removes clogs that hampers it. This results in a better flow of energy and blood, bringing balance into the body and in turn improving or enabling physiological activities.

Treats Pain

Pain is caused by pressure on the nerves due to poor blood flow. Cupping improves the circulation of the body and reduces pressure placed on the nerves, treating the pain. In cases of pinched nerves, cupping can serve as a useful remedy towards the condition.

Reduces Stress

The muscle hardens as a response to stress. In the long term, hardened muscles can cause problems with blood circulation, increasing pressure placed on the nerves and meridians. Consequently, the nerves and meridians can no longer function properly. Cupping reduces the tension in the body through improving the circulation of the blood and energy flow. This leads to the body relaxing, reducing the effects of stress. If you have any mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, panic, rumination, stress, fear, anger, sadness, and grief cupping therapy can be used as a tool to help alleviate the symptoms.

Cranial Therapy

Cranial therapy is a high-level treatment that regulates the body’s central nervous system by improving the flow between the human brain and the spinal cord. Improving the flow increases the body’s immune functions and helps patients live a healthy and vibrant life. Fatigue can be caused by conditions such as stress and overwork and lead to a decreased function of the body. In order to restore the body’s function and live a healthy life, the sixth and seventh chakras must be always activated. The treatment may seem simple, but it’s very effective in what it does. Long-term sessions involving this treatment can prevent and treat many brain related conditions.

Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture

As everyone ages, the skin on the face would wrinkle and stretch downward. Crow’s feet would appear on the areas outside of the eye, lines would show under your eyes, glabella lines on the brows, bunny lines on the outside of the nose, and other lines would show up on the areas surrounding the mouth and lips. The muscles in the cheeks and face would droop down and the front neck would sag and wrinkle. Botox and fillers would be a solution to the problem, but facial needles have the benefit of creating a natural look that complements the aging process.

Visceral (Internal Organ Qi) Therapy

The internal organs of the human body have front-mu points that represent their functions. You can press the point to diagnose the function of the organ or to check the effectiveness of the treatment. The important points are the liver (Liv14), heart (Ren14), spleen (Liv13), lung (Lu1), kidney (Gb25), gallbladder (Sp24), small intestine (Ren4), stomach (Ren12), large intestine (St25), and bladder (Ren4).

If a certain point is tense or painful when pressed, this means the internal organs are diagnosed with functional problems. Massaging these points opens the energy (Qi) and improves its flow, reducing the pressure and tension while improving the function of the internal organ. It’s a useful method to treat internal organs and acts as preventative care towards future conditions.

Energy Pill (GongJin Dan)

A popular pill in both Korean and Chinese culture. Known for its high price point and very effective nature, the pill is a popular gift to give to parents, spouses, and children.

It’s used frequently to treat stress, exhaustion, cognitive fatigue, sleepiness, focus and concentration issues, and being overworked. People with occupations that involve higher levels of brain power like doctors, lawyers, engineers, and even students will find the energy pill to be very helpful. Even occupations that do not require much thinking, but instead require much focus over long hours such as drivers will find it beneficial. Elderly people as well who experience a cognitive decline will also see great effects from taking this pill.

It even helps with fatigue recovery which makes it a useful medicine to take after long business trips.

Herbal Formulas

There are many forms of herbal medicine that are used for treatment. If the symptoms of the disease are strong or urgent, a tonic is made for the patient. In cases where the symptoms are mild, a pill is often given to the patient. Tonics are also used in situations where the condition is severe and requires a large amount of herbal medication. Pills are also used in severe conditions, but are generally focused towards long term usage. In the field of modern oriental medicine, extraction and the use of axioms are used as well.

Generally, the eastern medicine doctor would diagnose the patient and then choose several herbs that would help treat the condition. As a result, each prescription is tailor-made for the patient.

Herbal medicine is one of the commonly used treatment methods along with acupuncture in clinics that practice oriental medicine. Their purpose is to not only treat the condition, but to strengthen multiple systems that are in the body. This leads to boosted energy, increased blood production, calmed spirit, strengthened mind and body, reduced risk of blood clots, and the removal of phlegm from the body.

Pain and diseases are often caused by stagnation, blockage, weak energy, blood deficiency, emotional problems, and mental stress. When you are sick, receiving an accurate diagnosis with an excellent herbal formula will boost up your immune system and lead to a quicker recovery period.

What is Micro Needling?

Microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy (CIT), is a minimally invasive treatment that can be used to treat acne scarring, hair loss, hyper-pigmentation, and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles while improving skin elasticity.

A microneedling pen is used to create microscopic punctures in the skin to stimulate collagen and elastin production as well as break up scar tissue and improve absorption of serums.

One of the benefits of microneedling is that it requires little to no down time. Take precaution to make sure that the skin is clean while it heals as some individuals may experience flaking skin as a side effect to the treatment.

What are the Main Causes of Sickness in the Human Body?

There are three main factors to sickness.

The first is aging. After the age of 28, the human body starts to decline and many different symptoms start to emerge such as: back, knee, and neck pain, stress, high blood pressure, diabetes, memory loss, kidney problems, hormone problems and heart problems.

The second is stress. Stress wears down the body physically causing issues like: high-tension muscles, headaches, migraines, neck, shoulder, and lower back pain, diabetes, high-blood pressure, indigestion, and many more. It also wears down the body mentally leading to issues such as: anxiety, depression, anger, panic, and fear.

The third is overwork. A proper work life balance is needed in any lifestyle. Staying in the same posture for hours leads to a decline in muscle strength, neck and shoulder pain, back pain, and weakness in joints.

The combination of these three factors affects the body negatively. Problems such as energy levels decline, blood circulation slows down, hormone balance becomes unstable, internal organ functions decline, brain function decline, wrinkles, mood swings, etc. Herbal medicine can reduce many of these symptoms.

For those experiencing mental and emotional issues, try getting a diagnosis by an eastern medicine practitioner and receive an medicinal herbal formula. This is a form of medical treatment that has been practiced for over a thousand years and can help you with your condition.
