New patient
Come as you are. We’ll take time to understand your concerns, explain each step, and build a plan around your needs.
What to expect
Plan to arrive 15 minutes early. Eat a light meal 1–2 hours beforehand, wear loose clothing, and leave room for a quiet period after treatment.

Arrive about 15 minutes early and bring a photo ID and insurance card, if you plan to use insurance.
We review your health history, current concerns, and what you hope to address.
Dr. Kang discusses your medical history, lifestyle, and goals and may include traditional tongue and pulse assessment.
Together, you review an individualized plan based on the assessment and your needs.
Your first visit may include acupuncture and, when appropriate, cupping, moxibustion, manual therapy, or herbal support.
You receive practical aftercare guidance and a recommended follow-up schedule.
Individualized care
Plans may combine acupuncture, cupping, moxibustion, manual therapy, and herbal medicine when appropriate. Improvement and visit frequency vary by person.
These time ranges are guidance, not promises. Dr. Kang reviews response and adjusts the plan with you.
Often 1–4 weeks
Early visits focus on comfort and the concerns that brought you in. Frequency and response vary by person.
Often 4–12 weeks
Care may shift toward longer-term patterns, mobility, and functional balance as progress is reviewed.
Ongoing, when appropriate
Some patients choose maintenance visits every 2–4 weeks or seasonally. This is optional and individualized.
Post-treatment wellness
Relaxation, mild light-headedness, fatigue, or minor bruising may occur. Rest, hydrate, and avoid scratching treatment points.
Temporary circular marks and tenderness are a normal local response. Protect sensitive skin and follow the bathing guidance you receive.
Warmth may remain after the session. Avoid sudden temperature changes if Dr. Kang advises it.
Mild soreness can occur. Avoid heavy lifting for the rest of the day when advised.
Take formulas only as prescribed and report unexpected changes or questions about dosage.
